Five charged after assault
Police have charged five young people following the serious assault of a man on Barrenjoey Rd, Ettalong, on the afternoon of Sunday, July 31.
Shortly after 2.30pm, emergency services were called to Barrenjoey Rd where they found a man suffering head injuries.
The 46-year-old man, who suffers from a mental impairment, was immediately taken to Gosford Hospital in a critical condition.
He was later transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital and police were told his injuries, including a fractured skull, were life-threatening.
Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were charged on Monday, August 1, with robbery in company causing grievous bodily harm.
They were refused bail and appeared in Woy Woy Children's Court on Tuesday, August 2.
Two other boys, aged 16, were charged with knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime.
They were given conditional bail and will appear in Woy Woy Children's Court on August 19.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on August 2 in relation to the incident.
He was given conditional bail and will appear in Woy Woy Local Court on August 30.
Investigations are continuing.
