Holstein re-affirms hospital commitment
Member for Gosford Mr Chris Holstein attended the Woy Woy Hospital Alliance meeting on Saturday, July 16, at St Luke's Church, Woy Woy.
"It was a very constructive and positive meeting at which Mr Holstein re-confirmed his commitment, and that of the new NSW Government, to re-opening the rehabilitation unit at Woy Woy Hospital," said Mr Holstein's electorate officer Mr Richard Keogh.
"Following due process, and including the Budget, the money will become available in due course."
Mr Holstein also indicated that he was exploring other opportunities with the Health Board and the Minister's office and investigating further areas for improvement at the hospital, said Mr Keogh.
"We were pleased to have the Member for Gosford turn up and spend almost an hour answering questions from the floor," said Alliance member Mr Ed James.
"It was made quite clear to Chris Holstein we were tired of being kept in an information vacuum with regard to the progress of the return of our rehabilitation ward to Woy Woy Public Hospital."
We expected to be advised in writing ahead of our regular meetings, which was a point forcefully made.
After the Member for Gosford left, an election was held for chairman of the group.
Ivan Kinny was the successful candidate.
