Precinct building available for hire
Gosford Council has resolved to open the Peninsula Recreation Precinct Building for public hire.
The building at Umina oval will be available for use seven days a week, for hourly, daily or evening hire, with different rates charged for businesses, general public, and community groups.
Cr Vicki Scott said the recreation precinct was "money-hungry in its maintenance".
"We have, in fact, had pieces of equipment wear out from overuse," she said.
"We have to be mindful of how much this is costing us on a week to week basis, and the fees and charges of this building will go toward maintaining this precinct."
Cr Peter Freewater praised the precinct's success.
"I wanted to bring this up to praise the success of the park.
"It's always packed full of people, and they love it.
"The staff have done a fantastic job on this park.
"It's just a wonderful park and we're so lucky on the Peninsula to have it."
