Fast food outlet offers tour
A tour of a local fast food restaurant is being offered on Saturday, July 5.
Peninsula residents can visit McDonald's restaurant in Woy Woy and take a tour of the restaurant from dining room to kitchen.
According to owner/operator John Ursino, the day is designed specifically for customers and those interested in seeing what goes on behind the front counter.
"Kitchen visits and discussion forums will provide visitors the opportunity to ask any questions they may have from the preparation of our burgers, to the source of our products, to the training we provide our staff and what goes on during a day in the life of a McDonald's crew person," said Mr Ursino.
Nearly 600 McDonald's restaurants around the country will give tours to customers.
"Open Doors day is about building on the relationships we already have with our local customers and re-emphasising to them and others that we are a trustworthy, transparent and quality organisation."
Tours will take place throughout the day and Peninsula residents will need to book in advance for a tour of the restaurant.
People can book in for a tour via the McDonald's website at www.mcdonalds.com.au or call the Open Doors hotline on 1300 309 622.
For health and safety reasons, people participating in an Open Doors tour are required to wear non-slip covered-in shoes and comfortable but close fitting clothing, and only people over the age of 14 can participate in a full restaurant tour.
Those under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
All tour participants will be given a hairnet and coat to wear during the tour.
