Council to talk to club administrators

Gosford Council will attempt to become involved in any future development of Woy Woy Bowling Club, following the adoption a resolution at a recent council meeting

Cr Lynne Bockholt's successfully moved that: "Council contact the administrators of the Woy Woy Bowling Club immediately with a view to council entering into urgent discussions with the administrators to assume control of the site, so that a master plan can be prepared and competitive tenders be called over the next 12 months.

"The Woy Woy Bowling Club has been in receivership for some time," said Cr Bockholt.

"Local papers suggest a syndicate of local business people have approached the administrator with a view to assuming control of the site.

"If this occurs, Council will have little control over what happens on the site.

"It is essential that council be a critical player in future development so that it can be planned in an orderly manner and as much of the current club and bowling green is retained as possible."
