Brief being finalised for urban strategy
The initial scoping brief for the Peninsula's Integrated Urban Area Strategy is currently being finalised, according to a spokesperson from the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources.
The Integrated Urban Area Peninsula Strategy is a joint partnership between Gosford City Council and the Department formally known as Planning NSW.
The spokesperson said: "Its objectives include:
- Increasing housing choice and affordability;
- Improving linkages between public transport, town centres, health, education and other community services
- Encouraging the development of strong, diverse and livable communities
- Improving the design and quality of the urban environment
- Protecting the natural environment to sustain biological, water and air resources
- Facilitating investment and job creating activities, and
- Giving confidence to the local community that the future for the Peninsula will be a more sustainable one.
