Locals contribute to Coast success

Three members of the Woy Woy 11As cricket side - Tristen McDonald, Jason Hayward and Dominic Tonkin - were members of the Central Coast under-11 team in the NSW Junior District Cricket Association competition.

The team won the final of the Creek Shield on Sunday, February 9.

Tristen McDonald also had the honour of captaining this side for the second year.

In a tight finish, Central Coast won their semi-final against Georges River-St George on the second last ball of that match by one run.

This win took them through to the final against South Eastern, a team representing the Eastern Suburbs and Southern Districts of Sydney.

In this game, Central Coast had a more comfortable win scoring a 143 with the bat and bowling South Eastern out for 111 in tight finals cricket.

Throughout the season that Woy Woy contingent were heavily involved.

Batting early Jason and Tristen were significant contributors with the bat and in the field, while Dominic as opening bowler continually achieved early wickets including 3/20 in the final.
