Battle of the Bays

In a battle of the Bays, Empire Bay Public School played softball against Bateau Bay Public School, losing 11-15 last month.

Empire Bay lost the toss and was sent in to field.

With some good pitching from Ryan Maxwell, backed up with good team fielding, Empire Bay managed to get Bateau Bay out.

Mitchell Ryan did a good job at catcher and a good performance at second base by Jason Overton kept Bateau Bay's score down.

Zac Dawes kept the Bateau Bay team honest at short stop and the outfield of Ryan Reeves, Bede Wheatland and Adam Pinchbeck stopped a lot of home runs.

Mitchell Attard on first and Ben Burroughs on third also helped stop many of the Bateau Bay batsmen making it home.

Empire Bay's batting never quite made Bateau Bay's score of 15, but there was some good batting performances, notably from Mitchell Ryan and Liam Thorne.

The reserves, Bowen Hersol, Mitchell Witten and Cameron Keller, also put in a lot of effort having participated in every game this season.
