Pair wins Kingfisher trophy

Ettalong pair Todd Langby and John Roberts, along with Everglade's Graham Maier won the Kingfisher trophy held at Umina Bowling Club.

Umina Bowling Club's mens triple team also put in a strong performance at the tournament, reaching the quarter finals.

The tournament, in its 29th year, was played late last month, with some outstanding talent making the trip to Umina.

State representatives and Australian squad participants were among the participants.

Seven of the top 10 ranked players in Australia played in the tournament.

The Umina team of Ian Street, Tony Kelly and John Menzies put in a good performance, against such highly-talented competition, to reach the quarter finals.

This year's tournament was sponsored by Easts Ocean Beach Holiday Park at Umina.

Umina Bowls coordinator, Mr Charlie Robinson, said the tournament was a great success.

The trophy was presented along with a cheque for $4500.
