Progress association committee filled without ballot
The Pearl Beach Progress Association has filled its committee positions for the coming year without a ballot.
Appointed were president Ms Deidre Page, vice-presidents Mr Russell Grove and Ms Victoria Crawford;, treasurer Ms Robyn Barrett, secretary Mr Gary Phillips, assistant secretary Ms Catherine Lancaster, publicity fficer Ms Lynne Lillico and committee members Mr Malcolm Davison, Ms Margaret Westcott, Ms Penryn Maddrell and Mr Paul Barclaire.
President Ms Page said: "There is a lot to learn and process and I am more than keen to do this.
"The Pearl Beach Progress committee is a small group of people who have achieved big things.
"I look forward to working to continue to bring activities, and opportunities to the community that everyone can participate in."
Outgoing president Ms Victoria Crawford in her annual report spoke of the achievements over the past year which included ongoing liaison with Central Coast Council.
She said the environment sub-committee had put in submissions regarding building approvals that did not meet Development Control Plan, which included location specific development plans for Pearl Beach.
The constitution working party reviewed the guidelines and finalised a Code of Conduct which was approved at the June general meeting.
Hall maintenance had been a major focus, with insulation and panelling installed in the ceiling, the floor being sanded and interior walls painted.
She said a working party looked at developing a plan for the kitchen, storage and toilets.
"Users will be consulted, and members will be involved in the final decision, suggestions are of course welcome to build on those already collected."
