Pearl Beach residents are community champions
Two Pearl Beach residents have received Gosford Community Champion Awards.
Ms Lynne Lillico and Ms Beverley Lapacek are pictured with their award certificates.
The awards were made by Member for Gosford Ms Liesl Tesch to people "who go above and beyond" to make a positive contribution to the community through their work, volunteering efforts and involvement in community activities.
Ms Lillico received her award for her continuing role within the Pearl Beach Progress Association as the publicity officer and past events coordinator, organising, promoting and often hosting events that the association organises.
Ms Lapacek received her award for the work she has done and continues to do for the community by organising events and activities including the Community Christmas Lunch, Christmas in July, Biggest Morning Tea in support of the Cancer Council, and the Pearl Beach Plodders group where she also organises a week away each year.
"There are very few events or activities at Pearl Beach that don't involve Lynne or Beverley in one way or another and it's a wonder they have time for anything else," said progress association assistant secretary Ms Catherine Lancaster.
