Umina is Reserve Fours champion

Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club is the Central Coast Bowls 2024-25 Reserve Fours Champion.

Represented by John Hall, Warren Brooks, Rob Merrill and Colin Mew, the team defeated the Mingara Mustangs 17-15, at Ettalong Bowling Club on Saturday, November 16.

"The boys had a very handy lead 16 - 8 at the half way stage, but Mingara clawed their way back into the game," said Umina club secretary Mr Peter Springett.

"It was Umina 16 to Mingara 15 going into the last end.

"There were not too many close bowls on the last end and Mingara were holding one shot, which was just under a metre away.

"Rob Merril, with his second bowl, drew a resting toucher at 3.44pm."

Umina won the end and the title 17 - 15.

The team will now play in the State play-offs in Ballina next year.
