Students to attend Woy Woy Anzac Day service
Woy Woy South Public School will participate in the Anzac Day Service held at the Memorial Park on April 25, despite the day being in the middle of the school holidays.
"This important event allows us to honour the bravery and sacrifices of those who served in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during World War I and subsequent conflicts," said school principal Mr Matt Barr.
"Any student wishing to be a part of the service is welcome to march.
He said that students would gather at 10am in the Deepwater carpark, opposite Gloria Jeans coffee shop.
Students will be expected to wear full school uniform including hat, and to bring a drink bottle.
"We invite all families to join us in this meaningful ceremony which will begin at 10.30 am at the Memorial Park, Woy Woy," said Mr Barr.
"The ceremony will commence promptly.
"Woy Woy South staff will be in attendance at the Deepwater carpark and will march with the students to the Memorial Park.
"Parents are required to be in attendance and collect their children from the teachers at the conclusion of the service.
"It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about the significance of Anzac Day and to reflect on the values of courage, mateship, and sacrifice."
