Alternative siting needed for new preschool

I am writing as a local resident and supporter of early childhood education to express both my support for the addition of a new preschool in our community and my concern regarding the proposed location for its construction.

While I welcome the investment in expanding educational infrastructure, the current proposed site will significantly impact an important green space and outdoor playground that is critical for students K-2 years.

These outdoor areas play a vital role in children's development and wellbeing, offering a safe place for physical activity, social interaction, and a connection to nature-especially in an increasingly urbanised environment.

Additionally, the inclusion of a new parking area as part of the proposal seems unnecessary given the existing infrastructure.

There is already sufficient parking nearby, and any concerns about drop-off congestion could be effectively mitigated by implementing staggered start times, as is common practice in many schools.

This would improve efficiency without sacrificing green space.

I urge you to consider an alternative site for the preschool which has already been identified within the school grounds.

This location currently comprises underutilised or out-of-bounds areas that would be far less disruptive to student recreation and the broader community.

By choosing this alternate site, the preschool can proceed with minimal environmental and social impact, while still meeting the needs of local families.
