St John's students explore meaning of belonging
St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School students have explored the meaning of inclusiveness and belonging, as they celebrated Harmony Day recently.
"This is one of our favourite events of the year," said school principal Ms Nicole Davies.
"Our whole school came together for a special assembly, featuring the diverse range of cultures that makes up our vibrant school community.
"Flags, traditional costumes, greetings and mottoes in different languages were shared during this beautiful celebration.
"Harmony Day certificates were also presented to some students at morning assembly this week, to show our appreciation for these student's consistent, genuine and enthusiastic willingness to assist in all aspects of Harmony Day.
"As part of the students continual cultural and language learning, during their weekly Greek lessons, they have also discovered the religious and historical significance of March 25 in Greece and will conclude the term by learning Greek Easter wishes, customs and traditions."
