Disabled Surfers call for upgrade to amenities block

The Disabled Surfers Association is calling for the Umina Beach amenities block to be upgraded in its submission to Central Coast Council's Disability Inclusion Plan.

It was desperately-needed, said association president Ms Rae Fiechter.

"I am told the Review of Public Amenities document is scheduled to go before a Council meeting in May.

"Once the review is tabled and approved, Council can then schedule works.

"Umina Beach is slated for a Regional C Block which has suitable amenities for our needs.

"Given its been there for the 30 years I have lived in the area, a rebuild asap would be welcomed."

The association's Central Coast committee was returned at its recent annual general meeting.

Re-elected were president Ms Rae Fiechter, vice-president Mr Czes Lawicki, secretary Ms Pauline Maniskas and treasurer Ms Gillian Moran.

General committee members are Ms Cheryl Hocking, Ms Janine Prosser, Ms Merilyn Bailey, Mr Brendon Lagudi, Mr PaulDavis, Mr Peter McCudden and Ms Megan Jessop.
