Below average rainfall so far for February
The Peninsula has received only 40 per cent of its average February rainfall by last Friday morning, February 21.
The total rainfall for February stood at 60.9mm, compared to the month's 20-year average of 155mm, according to figures supplied by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.
The majority of this, 43.6mm, was recorded on just one day, Tuesday, February 11.
While the January total was almost 50 per cent more than average, the cumulative total for the year was 239.1mm, 13.1 per cent less than the average at the end of February of 275mm.
While January had 20 days with rain, February has had only eight days so far.
