Kevin is Veteran Singles champion
Kevin Bettridge is the Umina Beach Men's Bowling Club's Veteran Singles Champion.
He defeated Alan Jones in the final "played in near perfect conditions" on Tuesday, November 19, according to club secretary Mr Peter Springett.
"AJ got out to a quick-fire 10 - 0 lead after seven ends, then 16 - 6 after 11 ends," he said.
"Kevin hung in there and started to draw very well.
"He reduced the lead to 19 - 17 after 18 ends.
"Kevin went on to win five of the next seven ends to take the lead 24 - 23 after 25 ends.
"Kevin held his nerve when it looked like AJ held game, but drew shot to take out the title 25-23.
"This was anyone's game, but Kevin deserved the win after such a great fight back.
"The enthusiastic spectators were glued to their seats, right to the end."
