Older women's network to hold fashion parade
Deepwater Older Women's Network will hold a fashion parade in the Umina Beach CWA hall at 2pm on Saturday November 4.
It will feature a spring and summer collection from Sarongs Ladies Fashion.
Branch secretary Ms Jennifer Brown said: ""We recently purchased food for Care4Coast to use in their hampers for desperate, homeless and food insecure people on the Central Coast.
The value of the shop was $500 and we hope to repeat this project prior to Christmas as their services face ever increasing demand.
"Christmas is often a very stressful time especially for those who have very little.
"The food was delivered to Mrs. Kim Bintley from Care4Coast in their new warehouse space behind Lifeline in Cary St, Gosford, in early October," she said.
Ms Brown said: "Our branch is the largest one on the Central Coast with over 40 members.
"We enjoy a monthly lunch, coffee morning and a general meeting featuring a speaker and reports on our various fundraising functions.
"The Older Women's Network Deepwater at Woy Woy is part of a national advocacy group which looks to the uphold the rights, wellness and dignity of older women in the community."
