Op shop relies on passing trade
In Peninsula News (October 16), your correspondent wrote about the proposed sale of Austin Butler Reserve.
Your correspondent suggested that Woy Woy Peninsula Neighbourhood Services be relocated to Peninsula Community Centre.
This ignores the fact that service operates an op shop in the fire station building.
The shop depends on passers-by being able to walk into our shop.
If we are located at the community centre, there will be no passing trade.
The resulting lack of income would cripple the Neighbourhood Service, which would be the end of the other services we offer to the community.
Those services include laundry services and our mini buses used by various aged and disabled members of the Peninsula community.
