Rotary club visits college campus farm
The Rotary Club of Umina Beach has paid its annual visit to the farm at Umina campus of Brisbane Water Secondary College.
Club president Mr Wayne Dowdle said it was "one of our favourite activities of each year".
"Students were proud to show us all of the great variety of farm animals which they nurture and show at agriculture shows throughout the State.
"Sadly not all animals return from the shows including the heavyweight boar which was the overall champion at this year's Sydney Royal, such is the expertise of the students in preparing and presenting these animals.
Umina campus principal Ms Kerrie O'Heir thanked the club for its ongoing support of the agriculture program, supported by teacher and ag co-ordinator Mr Richard McKay.
As part of the presentation, four students addressed the visitors, describing their part in the agriculture program and their hopes for the future in the farm industry.
