Last year's grand finalists battle it out a second time
Last year's Women's Premier League soccer grand finalists Umina United and Southern and Ettalong United have met for the second time this season, on Sunday, June 18.
The match saw Umina victorious 5-1 over Southern and Ettalong.
The reigning champions took the lead after just 10 minutes.
A through ball by Riley Lewin found Kate Styles who then squared the ball to E-Gals captain Chelsea Campbell who chipped the keeper to open the scoring.
Umina doubled their lead after a pass from Hannah Batten found Kate Styles who took one touch around the keeper and finished in an empty net for her first of the day.
Umina further extended their lead before halftime as Hannah Batten found herself on the end of a shot unmarked at the back post to tap in and give her side a 3-0 lead at the break.
Umina resumed in the second half and got their fourth goal from a wonderfully-worked team goal played out from a goal kick.
Bella DeMeyer found herself free in the middle who initiated the attack as Kate Styles finished off a one-on-one for her second of the day and fifth of the season.
Southern got one back thanks to a knuckleball from Elaine McConaghey that left the Umina keeper with zero chance.
Looking to bounce back straight away, a quick free kick by Kirby Squires released Hayley Fulwood one-on-one as she made no mistake and found the back of the net to round up Umina's 5-1 win over Southern.
Match official was Graeme Gurr.
