Bev Collins wins Minor Singles
The Umina Beach Women's Bowling Club's 2023 Minor Singles championships were completed on Saturday, June 10.
Bev Collins won the event for the first, after competing for 11 years.
With 15 entries, the championships were described as "great bowls ... with some very close games".
In the semi-finals, Beverley Collins defeated Natasha McDowall, while Katie Brown defeated Cheryl Catchpool.
The final was played in "ideal conditions with clear blue sky and only a slight breeze" on June 10.
Both players started off well, however Bev gradually got ahead with a good lead.
Katie fought back but, after 3.5 hours, Bev finally got the shots she needed to take out the match.
