Surf club has a new flagpole
Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club has a new flagpole, thanks to a $2000 grant.
The grant was awarded through the Federal Government's Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program.
Club grants officer Mr Kevin Manning said: "The club's flagpoles are frequently used during the patrol season and for special occasions like Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.
Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid met with Mr Manning and caretaker Mr Bob Nash to announce the funding.
"Ocean Beach Surf Lifesaving Club is a beautiful surf lifesaving club on the Central Coast," Dr Reid said.
He said the replacement flagpole would allow the club to continue flying its flags during the patrol season and during special events.
The Saluting Their Service Program is for projects that commemorate the service and sacrifice of Australia's military personnel in wars, conflicts, and peace operations.
Funding application may be made through to October 10.
