Tea Cosy Expo raises $6000 for Lions club
The Woy Woy Peninsula Lions Club has raised more than $6000 through its Tea Cosy Expo, held on Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and 11.
"We had a great weekend with over 190 tea cosies exhibited on our display tables," said club president Mr Greg Head.
"The sale of the tea cosies was also successful, which was pleasing for the people who put in so much time and effort to support our event.
"We estimate over 800 men, women and children passed through the doors over the two day with more than 400 Devonshire Teas served by our Lions club members ,CWA members and volunteers."
A number of other community groups had stalls and raised money at the Expo.
Mr Head said the Lions Club would disburse its fund over coming months.
Among groups supported will be Umina Beach Surf Club, Umina Beach Men's Shed, Umina CWA, local RFS stations and Woy Woy Neighbourhood Centre.
"We also make donations to Australian Lions Foundations as part of out semi-annual dues," said Mr Head.
