Vets apply to open for one hour more
A veterinary centre in Blackwall has applied to Central Coast Council to extend its opening hours by one hour a day.
The Brisbane Water Veterinary Centre at 54 Memorial Ave proposes to extend its opening hours from 8am to 6pm to 8am to 7pm.
"Brisbane Water Veterinary Centre is located in the heart of an industrial estate," the application states.
"This means we have no residential tenants that will be affected by noise or light.
"By extending our open hours by one hour, we expose the employment zone area to some noise that may be made by dogs or cats within our facility.
"However, our direct neighbours are Mechanics and close shop at 5.30 pm, therefore, this will not affect them.
"Secondly, two shops over from our Veterinary Hospital have a petrol station with lights on
241/7.
"This is a more considerable inconvenience than what our extending of hours would be.
"By extending our hours we will provide the community with better access to veterinary care
for their pets, especially after work hours.
"No changes will be made to the use of the land or building, merely just the change to the
times of service."
