Virtual cycling fitness training now available

Fitness training using "virtual cycling" is now being offered on the Peninsula.

It is set up with bicycles in the group fitness studio at the Peninsula Leisure Centre.

All it takes is to "jump on a bike and press play on a virtual cycle class".

Three programs are "available on-demand any time the group fitness studio is vacant": The Trip, Sprint and RPM.

"The Trip is a fully immersive experience that combines a 40-minute multi-peak cycling workout with a journey through digitally-created worlds," according to staff at the Leisure Centre.

"Sprint is a 30-minute high-intensity interval workout using an indoor bike to achieve fast results.

"RPM is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity.

"With great pumping music, your instructor will take you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flats."
