Council grant recommended for ephemeral art trail
A community support grant of $5000 has been recommended for the Crommelin Native Arboretum at Pearl Beach.
Central Coast Council will consider the application for the grant for the Pearl Beach Arboretum Ephemeral Art Trail at tomorrow night's council meeting.
Council staff recommended payment of the grant because "community benefit is demonstrated, and all required information is provided".
Of the annual budget of $300,000 for community support grants, the staff report showed that the financial year will end with just under $250,000 spent.
"Council's grant programs are provided to support the community to deliver quality programs, projects or events that build connections, celebrate our local community, that align with the One-Central Coast Community Strategic Plan and build capacity across the entire Central Coast community," according to the report.
"This program enables applicants to apply for funding support in a faster response time.
"The Community Support Grant Program is provided to support the community to deliver activities which require a small amount of funding and/or in-kind support.
"The program remains open throughout the year."
