Sprouting like suckers
Having noticed comments in a press release from Mr Laurie Maher published in the Peninsula News, I gather his party is well informed on the innumerable examples of extremely poor governance which ratepayers have put up with over years.
Accommodated by sitting Gosford councillors who are well known to the Central Coast community.
I agree that the early loss of the Woy Woy War Memorial Pool serves as no better public example here on the Woy Woy Peninsula.
Mr Maher asked if this same level of disorganisation is evident in other council decisions.
This is an extraordinary question when I understand that the Central Coast Leagues Club is in dispute with Gosford City Council and insurers Jardine Thompson Lloyd over an amount of some $400.000 that would seem to arise from the very lack of good governance he questions.
Budding politicians are already popping up, seeking the support of voters at the ballot box.
These hopefuls are in the main very close to those whom I believe can be held politically responsible for the state we find ourselves in on the Central Coast.
In fact "new bloods" are sprouting like suckers from the stock of tired old elected representatives who were never capable of making a decision to act outside strict party lines, politicians who will no doubt rely on preferences from those testing the political waters so to speak.
