From hospital to cricket record
Woy Woy cricket identity Bob Hook has had a mixed week.
Hook who will celebrate his 68th birthday in two weeks started his celebrations early.
After having spent the first half of the week in Gosford Hospital with undiagnosed chest pains, Hook rallied to play in the Woy Woy sixth grade match at Ettalong Oval against Wyong, scoring a massive 155.
Arguably in the twilight of his career, this innings was most certainly a milestone.
While no stranger to scoring a century, this score is his highest, eclipsing the 140 that he scored while playing for Crows Nest in the Sydney A Grade competition almost 50 years ago.
Last year Bob suffered a heart attack while batting, only to return to the crease to finish his innings after a short rest in the stands.
On that occasion he scored 46 not out.
