Music and dance for Australia Day
Music and dance performances will feature at Australia Day activities planned for Anderson Park, Woy Woy, this year.
Stalls will be held by local environmental groups, arts and crafts people, the Gosford Rural Fire Service and St Johns Ambulance, with the Salvation Army offering tea, coffee and cold drinks.
Family activities will run all day and include a tug-of-war demonstration, with a competition between emergency services.
The day will include a Taekwan-Do demonstration.
Novelty rides will be available, as will a range of food from local seafood to international cuisine.
The Troubadour Folk Club will also be hosting bands at the CWA hall.
The day begins at 10am with a welcome by aboriginal elder Ray McMinn, followed by a landing re-enactment by the NSW Corps of Marines.
There will be a flag raising ceremony with the singing of the National Anthem, "I am Australian" and "Waltzing Matilda".
Then the dancing and music will begin with Dance Rage Dance Academy and "Us Not Them", a duo playing acoustic guitar and mandolin.
All those who celebrate their birthday on the day will get a special birthday cake at lunchtime.
Music by "Mudcats" and a presentation from Jump Street will entertain until the F18 fly over occurs.
The Wheeze and Suck Band will then play their brand of English folk songs through the afternoon.
Pelican feeding will take place at Fishermans Wharf until close at 4pm.
