Rotary celebrates year of support
Umina Beach Rotary president Mr Mike Curley finished off his year with a special evening celebrating support to local community groups.
Brisbane Water Secondary College, The Web Youth Service, Woy Woy South Public School, PCYC, Red Cross Blood Bank, Religious Education Ministries, Ms Ann Martin for the Phu My Orphanage near Saigon were just some of the beneficiaries to receive support during this Rotary year.
One of the club's biggest projects was the annual Peninsula fireworks carnival at Umina Oval on New Year's Eve.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a special Paul Harris Fellowship Award to past president Mr Ian Figtree for his services to Rotary.
The award was presented by district governor-elect Mr Bruce Allen.
Before finishing his year, president Mr Mike Curley handed the presidential collar to incoming president and local businessman Mr Glen Scorer.
