Singers secure cultural grant

The Bells entertainment group has secured a cultural grant from Gosford Council.

Group member Ms Joy Coleman said: "A few months ago we were very worried about our public liability insurance which falls due end of August.

"Our premium went from $280 to $410 to $1000 and we had to borrow some of this to remain insured.

"The Bells were founded 23 years ago, perform 40 to 45 concerts each year, are self funded and perform in Ettalong, Umina, Woy Woy, Gosford, Terrigal, Erina and Wyoming and anywhere else we are required.

"If you like-to sing the old songs, have some tune in your voice and two half days a week to spare, perhaps you would like to come along and help us.

"We practice in Umina CWA every Tuesday from 9am," she said.
