Bushcare introduced

Gosford Council ran an "Introduction to Bushcare Workshop" at Woy Woy South Progress Hall on Sunday, June 29.

The workshop covered topics including: "What is bush regeneration?", causes of bushland degradation, "golden rules" of bush regeneration, and Gosford Council's Bushcare program.

Policies for OH&S, herbicides, site safety and bush regeneration were discussed and a practical display of weed treatment was given.

Reference material was recommended.

The workshop aimed to give participants a basic knowledge of bush regeneration principles and was conducted in a casual, interactive manner.

People volunteering in the Gosford City Council Bushcare program are encouraged to attend such workshops, but all members of the public are welcome.
