Hazardous waste taken

A collection of household hazardous waste for Peninsula residents will be held on Sunday, March 4.

Up to 20kg or 20 litres from each household will be accepted at the Gosford Council depot in Gallipolli Ave, off Ocean Beach Rd, Woy Woy, from 10am to 4pm.

Permitted wastes will include fuels and oils, garden chemicals, cleaners and solvents, paint, household batteries and aerosols.

"If you have any unwanted hazardous materials around the house, home or garden shed, they can be dropped off," according to Ms Kareena Orman of the Central Coast Waste Board.

She said it was important to handle chemicals with caution and not to mix them.

For further information, phone the Waste Board on 4323 4343.
