We can make a difference
I was very pleased that I rushed home from work last Wednesday in order to attend the meeting "Save Our Suburbs" at East Gosford Community Hall.
It gave me hope for the future to see that there are many other people who are also concerned about what is happening to our living environment, and who are concerned about the concreting of our land and the ensuing problems which include flooding, being so evident in the last few days.
It was also exciting to hear a councillor, Laura Bennett, Mayor of Ku-Ring-Gai Council, speak with such conviction about community participation in their plans for sustainable urban development.
I realised that if we do not like what developers are doing, even with our council's consent, it is possible for us to make a difference.
I urge everyone who is at all interested in what is happening to the Central Coast, and more particularly the Peninsula, to attend the next meeting at the same place on 4 March.
