Mattawa at folk club

Acoustic folk band Mattawa will be playing at the Troubadour Folk Club at the CWA Hall on March 9.

The band says it began its musical life exploring the instrumental dance music of Canada and North America.

Gradually, the lure of Celtic music from other parts of the world became irresistible.

With four singers in the group, the band's repertoire now takes in music from the Celtic regions of France and Spain as well as Ireland and Scotland, together with tunes from the Jewish Klezmer tradition and from Greece.

The CWA Hall is located opposite the Fisherman's Wharf and there is a $7 cover charge on the night.
