Ron hangs up his keys

Long-standing Woy Woy resident Mr Ron Wrench has finally decided to stop driving and retire the car he has owned since 1966.

Ron, a retired citrus grower, settled in Woy Woy in 1967 and since then the Mercedes has been his lifelong baby and is still in showroom condition with only 78,000 miles on the clock.

Although Ron still passes his annual driving test with flying colours, he says that his eyesight is not what it used to be, so he has decided to hang up his keys and pass the Mercedes on to another loving enthusiast.

His advice to modern day motorists: "Don't speed, drive within your capabilities and you will drive for as long as I have."

Ron has not had an offence in almost 70 years of motoring.

Before cars were common, he used a horse and sulky for transport, then graduated to motorcycles.
