CAPS looks for new home

The Child Abuse Prevention Service (CAPS) in Neera Rd, Umina, is looking for a new home.

Organisers say they are finding that a lot of their client families do not have transport.

"CAPS now needs to look at a venue which is closer to transport so that families will then be able to drop in for a cuppa or talk to a counsellor."

The service does not have the funds to afford commercial rates and is looking for assistance.

CAPS aims to prevent child abuse by helping families and carers to cope with the pressures of raising children.

The group also runs groups on parenting skills, relationships and dealing with teenagers.

CAPS' 24-hour counselling line is 4343 1411.
