Funding for carpentry course

The Everglades Country Club has announced that it will provide $5000 to community-based training organisation Work Wise to assist young unemployed people to learn carpentry skills.

Coordinator of the Work Wise Ettalong training centre, Jane Thomas, said the funding was most welcome and would allow the centre to purchase timber for the Introduction to Trades course which begins next month.

Apart from hand and power tool training, young people attending the course will participate in team-building, numeracy and literacy training and career development workshops, Ms Thomas said.

Enquiries for the Introduction to Trades and other courses at Ettalong can be directed to Work Wise on 4344 3040.
