Rotary club restores wheel logo at Staples Lookout
The Rotary Club of Woy Woy has restored the Rotary wheel at Staples Lookout on Woy Woy Rd.
"We chose a chilly morning to restore the Rotary wheel," said club president Mr Trevor Walker.
"The rain started before we finished.
"However, we persevered and got the job done, then enjoyed some home made slice and a nice hot cuppa.
"There were quite a few tourists passing through during the morning, who stopped to take in the view and to ask what was going on."
The lookout was constructed in 1955 by the Rotary Club of Woy Woy as a tribute to Mr Charles J Staples, an early developer of the Peninsula and pioneer of the route that Woy Woy Rd now follows.
