Arboretum celebrates 46 years
The Pearl Beach Arboretum celebrated its 46th anniversary with a picnic lunch yesterday, following its August working bee.
Visitors had the chance to learn about the arboretum and the team of volunteers who work there on the third Sunday of every month.
The Crommelin Native Arboretum was established in Pearl Beach in August 1976.
It is a natural botanic garden open to the public for free.
The arboretum is a sanctuary for rare and threatened plant species, and with 5.5 hectares of land.
