Science challenge held
Brisbane Water Secondary College was represented by Year 10 scientists in a recent challenge day for gifted and talented students held at the Niagara Park Youth Centre.
They were split into eight teams, competing with other Central Coast schools in a range of activities.
The activities included designing and testing a catapult, building bridges and chairs, building and testing gliders and sailing boats, making an air cannon to shoot paper leprechauns and designing a system to let a person think like a computer.
The students finished sixth on the day, their first attempt, and will go into the competition next year.
