Charity ride to benefit PCYC
Local riders are gearing up for a charity bike ride from the Central Coast to Melbourne in May.
Four Central Coast residents are riding to raise money and awareness for the Umina PCYC club.
Organiser of the ride, owner of Peninsula Cycles Mr Dan Cleary, said: "Over recent years, crime on the Peninsula has affected many residents and local business owners.
"The money that we raise will go towards building outdoor recreation facilities for the PCYC.
"If this helps get kids off the street and away from crime and drugs then our job will be well worthwhile," he said.
The ride takes place on May 1 and the riders expect to reach Melbourne within two weeks.
People who are interested in sponsoring the event can do so at Peninsula Cycles at Umina, at Umina Beach Veterinary clinics or at the Umina PCYC.
