Application for nine units deferred
Gosford Council has decided to defer consideration of an application to build a nine-unit complex at 81 Ocean Beach Rd, Woy Woy.
The application was made under State Environmental Planning Policy 5 which allows "low cost" multiple units for the elderly and disabled in the medium density areas.
The planned development involves the demolition of two houses almost opposite Woy Woy Hospital.
The reason given for the deferral was to investigate whether several trees on the site could be retained, including some Norfolk Island pines.
There was some concern at the meeting that the plans showed the pines standing directly over the units creating a potential hazard in storm weather.
Also of concern was the fact that some trees on the site were not to be retained.
