Time capsule approved

Gosford Council has approved the Rotary Club of Woy Woy's application for the erection of a monument, time capsule, outdoor seating area and a flagpole at the new Peninsula Community Centre grounds.

The monument will be 4.1 metres high and have a radius at the base of two metres.

The flagpole will be 7.5 metres high and three 1.5 metre park benches with paved areas will also be installed.

Council's director of development and the environment, Mr John Murray, said the proposed works were minor in nature and would not detract from the grounds of the proposed community centre and little theatre.

"The proposal will be set back five metres from Ocean Beach Rd," Mr Murray said.

"No trees or shrubs will be removed to accommodate the proposed works."
