Fours championship had five entries

The Umina Beach Women's Bowling Club had only five entries for its Fours Championship this year.

The championship was completed on Sunday, March 16, with winners being Patricia Neal, Gwen Jarratt, Lynette Kennedy and Carol Boyd.

In the semi-finals, Jean Harrison, Kerrie Richens, Lauren Ford and Debra Moore defeated Cheryl Catchpool, Aileen Robertson, Christine Gentle and Joan Murphy.

In the other semi-final, Patricia Neal, Jean Boardman (sub) for Gwen Jarratt, Lynette Kennedy, and Carol Boyd defeated Pam Fishenden, Barbara Schultz, Renette Burgess and Lynne Gordon.

The final was on Sunday, March 16, was held in gusty hot conditions.

The finalists were teams of Jean Harrison, Kerrie Richens, Lauren Ford and Debra Moore and of Patricia Neal, Gwen Jarratt, Lynette Kennedy and Carol Boyd.

Carol's team were too strong on the day and even when Debbie's team held shots they could not keep them.
