Marine Rescue visits surf life saving club
Both rescue water craft jetskis from Marine Rescue Brisbane Water Gold Watch paid a visit to Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club recently.
The reason for the visit was to expand the Marine Rescue unit's understanding of Surf Life Saving capabilities.
A rapid response by rescue water craft in the Ocean Beach, Ettalong or Box Head areas may necessitate delivery of a patient to a surf club.
The Ocean Beach patrol team members were well trained in aquatic rescue and advanced resuscitation, the Marine Rescue was told.
Marine Rescue and surf club members practiced beach approach and departure procedures through the power craft lane beside the swimming flags.
"This was a valuable inter-agency exercise," according to Marine Rescue members.
