No rain recorded for a week
Three weeks into March, the Peninsula has received only 45.2mm of rain, compared to the month's average of 174mm, according to figures provided by Mr Jim Morrison of Umina.
No rain had fallen in the week to Friday, March 21.
The March total so far is the second lowest in 21 years, with only last year's total of 31mm being less.
The previous year had a total of 55mm and the next lowest March rainfall was 57.5mm recorded in 2008.
Only three years ago, the March total was 486mm.
The cumulative total for the year stands at 291.9mm, which is 35 per cent less than the end-of-March average of 449mm.
