Teddy Tahu Rhodes to make only Coast appearance

Woy Woy Rotary Club's 18th annual Opera in the Arboretum on Saturday, March 29, will feature "a slew of Australia's top operatic and musical performers", according to club president Mr Tom McCann.

He said world-famous baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes would make his only Central Coast appearance for 2025, singing Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific, the famous Toreador Song from Bizet's Carmen, and Figaro's Largo al Factotum from Rossini's The Barber of Seville..

"Teddy will be joined by a quartet of Australia's leading opera and music stars, including, Sally-Anne Russell, Andrew Goodwin, Clarissa Sparta, and guest violinist Madeleine Easton.

Mr McCann said the annual charity event would be held in the "beautiful bush setting that is the Pearl Beach Arboretum" from 3pm and 5:30pm.

He said patrons were invited to "pack a snack, grab a blanket or a beach chair, bring a few beverages, and listen to these fantastic voices and much-loved music".

"Net proceeds from this fundraiser will support community programs at Coast Shelter, the Umina Surf Lifesaving Club, the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music, and other community and charitable organisations."
